Hi, thanks for stopping by!
My name, as you might have guessed, is Rachel E. Wollaston. I am a 19-year-old author from the UK and I specialise in fantasy fiction.
I love writing, I always have done, but it wasn’t an easy choice for me. Being artistically minded, I’ve always had an equal passion for a variety of different hobbies aside from writing, including dancing, painting, and crafting. In fact, I have a little side-business where I draw portraits.
I hate being unproductive. I also hate doing things that people tell me to do. That’s why being creative is such a great outlet for me; it allows me to use up all my excess brain power and be completely in charge of everything I do.
I remember the first story I ever wrote. I was about five years old and wrote a cute little story about a girl who helped a fairy find her lost wings on a stack of Post-It notes. Back then, we had one, low-tech computer in the house that I was not allowed to touch, and I remember reading the story out to my dad who typed it up in a document. Seeing my words typed up on a proper screen was the turning point for me. I knew I wanted nothing more than to see my stories in print.
So I continued to write, and ten years later, I had managed to build up a substantial collection of failed attempts and incomplete manuscripts. But still, I remained undeterred! I kept churning out more stories, which turned into even more failed attempts and incomplete manuscripts. Then, eventually, I was able to create something I could be proud of. And that something was my first ever published work: Kingdom.
